The military deadline that was set for the Egyptian president to give up power has now passed.
President Mohammed Morsi has given no indication of giving up his power.
It is believed that the military set a deadline for 11am today for the president to step down. Thousands of protestors have crowded in Tharir Square, Cairo in anticipation of the president’s departure.
Morsi became the president after won in a competitive election in June 2012 after Mubarak had been overthrown.
If this continues, it looks like a coup could be underway.
