As a young kid riding with my family through Washington, I remember passing the White House and saying “Wow, it would really be something special if I could meet the President, or see the President, or see the motorcade.”  When the President spoke on TV, my dad made me watch even though I knew absolutely nothing about politics. The fact the President was white never mattered, they were all white.  It was respect for the Presidency itself.  In 2010, it is a sad day in America when there are “Educators” and “Parents” around the country trying to keep children from hearing a positive and inspiring speech by a President who is not only a historic figure, but one of the most educated men to ever live in the White House.  What happened to the respect for the office, no matter who occupies it?
