The late Whitney Houston took to the screen one last time as “Sparkle” hit theaters last night. Critics are positively buzzing about Houston’s last performance stating that this would have been her return to a lasting future on the big screen. Houston plays “Emma”, the over-bearing mother, who was a former R&B singer, of Jordon Sparks “Sparkle” and her sisters that formed a singing group in the late 1960’s.
Critics are saying that Sparks’ performance as “Sparkle” was subpar and that the real star was “Sister” played by British actress Carmen Ejogo (center in picture).
